It is suspected that the city of Pyrene was meant, but it is not certain. Herodotus wrote of a Celtic city at the source of the Danube, named Pyrene. The Heuneburg is so far the closest find spot of a larger, city-like settlement to the source of the Danube, near present-day Donaueschingen.
