Sharp Haw lies in the far south of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, just north of the town of Skipton. Its sharp summit makes it particularly recognisable and, at 1,171 feet (357 m), it offers wonderful views north into the national park and south, across the Aire Valley.

Ascents are usually straightforward and there are numerous trails leading to the summit and onwards, so you can add the hill into a longer adventure or keep it short and sweet. Sharp Haw is part of the larger Flasby Fell, and trails across the top make it easy to explore the entire hill as well as dip down to the valley. A good starting point is on the bend on Bog Lane, which is just west, off the B6265. You could also start from Flasby or Hetton, to the west and north respectively.

The summit is tiny but easy to find thanks to the trig pillar. You can enjoy sweeping views, particularly northwards to neighbouring fells like Cracoe, and southwards to the valley.

    Hiking

Sharp Haw is a 1,171-foot (357 m) hill that sits along the Dales High Way long-distance hiking trail through the Yorkshire Dales. The hill just sneaks into the southernmost part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a well placed bench just below the summit where you can enjoy the views.

    Running

There's a good trail on the ground either from Flasby (the more interesting route) or Skipton side, and a rocky summit with a trig point - the perfect destination for a fell run
