The Landakot Church, or Christ the King Cathedral, is the largest Roman Catholic church in Iceland, built in 1929 in the Neo-Gothic style. It is located in the west of Reykjavík and is the seat of the Diocese of Reykjavík. The interior of the cathedral is adorned with stained glass windows, wooden carvings of saints, and a valuable 15th-century statue of the Virgin Mary with Child, which was crowned by John Paul II.
