The church was probably built in the first quarter of the 14th century. Some sources say that it was mentioned in documents as early as 1326. It was an early Gothic building, single-nave, made of brick, with massive buttresses and a simply closed presbytery.
In 1657, Tatar troops devastated these lands, burning the local church and the houses of the inhabitants.
In 1672, a new temple was built.
From the times of the Gothic building, only the lower part of the walls of the body and the tower have survived.
