The square at the end of the Fördepromenade near Galwik is called Renate-Delfs-Platz, named after the honorary citizen of the city of Flensburg, who would have turned 100 this year and who was born very close by.

Renate Delfs Square forms the northern end of the newly opened Fjord Promenade and offers a variety of seating and lounging options right on the water.
Built on the former Galwik Water Square, it is a direct extension of Galwik Park, which opened in 2008, and the Schlachthof BMX and Skate Park.

The square is named after Renate Delfs, honorary citizen of Flensburg. The actress and writer would have turned 100 on March 27, 2025.

It opened on June 7, 2025, together with the Fjord Promenade.

Starting in 2026, the autonomous ferry "Autognom" will also depart from Renate-Delfs-Platz: a small bicycle and pedestrian ferry that will connect the two sides of the harbor. The Piratennest at the Industriehafen is being discussed as a pier on the eastern side of the harbor. The Autognom is a research project of Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and the digital agency "Smart Border Region." Initially, the ferry will still be staffed.

The city of Flensburg is also seeking applicants for a catering service at Renate-Delfs-Platz. A mobile stand could also be considered as a starting point.
