Central square in Magdeburg surrounded by other highlights of the city, new and old architecture, ministries, hotels etc.
On the square itself, there are a lot of events of all kinds, concerts, flea and other markets.

Large representative square between the Gothic cathedral and the former convent of Our Lady, which now houses an art museum. The cathedral is the grave church of Otto the Great, 912-973, king of the Eastern Franconia and from 962 Roman-German emperors.
In front of the west portal of the cathedral there is a labyrinth of paving stones embedded in the ground, modeled after the floor labyrinth in the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Chartre.
