Hiking
The local history museum has been located in the Burmesterhaus since 1927. This is a craftsman's house from the end of the 18th century, which was also used as a part-time farm.
The extensive collection was initiated by the teacher and founder/director of the museum Wilhelm Sieck.
The museum was completely restored and refurbished from 1983 to 1986 with modern features in mind.

Hiking
The museum was my personal highlight on our walk through Hohenweststedt. We were guided through the museum with such attention to detail and many of the exhibits were explained to us. This makes a museum visit so much fun. I can highly recommend the visit. Admission is free. There is a donation box for the upkeep of the museum, which we were happy to fill.
