Cycling

On the former railway line, you can cycle at a relaxed pace through a varied landscape without any major inclines. Urban sections and rural idylls alternate harmoniously, ensuring a smooth and peaceful ride. Historical landmarks recall the railway past, while converted stations – such as Burscheid station – give this section its unique character.

Cycling

Brand new: There is a bike bus on weekends, which starts in Opladen and goes to Marinenheide. From there you can then drive back the route.

Cycling

The route of the "Balkanexpress", completely decommissioned in 1991, on the edge of the Bergisches Land offers ideal conditions for a cycle path. The panoramic cycle path Balkantrasse was opened on the section from Burscheid via Wermelskirchen to Remscheid on 22 April 2012, which was sponsored by Förderverein Balkantrasse Leverkusen e. V. built connection to Opladen followed on 29 May 2014.
