Majestically situated on the banks of the Elbe River, Magdeburg Cathedral is a true gem of Gothic architecture and a must-see for every traveler. A stop here is worth it for several reasons:
1. **Historical significance**: The cathedral is not only the oldest Gothic structure in Germany, but also the burial place of Otto the Great, the first Holy Roman Emperor. A visit offers a fascinating journey into the past.
2. **Architectural beauty**: The impressive towers and ornate details of the facade are a feast for the eyes. Inside, you will find magnificent stained glass windows and stunning acoustics.

The cathedral is visible from this vantage point, but quite a distance away. The more beautiful view from here is of St. John's Church.
