The Elba firetower trail entrance loop from Elba offers a brief but pleasant walk, giving you a taste of the scenic bluffs and wooded areas near the historic fire tower. This loop is a short 0.4-mile (0.6 km) hike with 209 feet (64 metres) of elevation gain, taking only about 17 minutes to complete. It's an ideal option if you're looking for a quick leg-stretcher or a family-friendly walk. The trailhead is easily accessible, and while this specific loop is easy, it connects to the more challenging Elba Firetower Trail, known for its many steps.

This trail is part of the larger Elba Firetower Trail system, which features the only climbable fire tower in Southern Minnesota, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933. While this entrance loop doesn't include the tower climb, it provides a glimpse into the natural and historical significance of the area, offering views of the valley and surrounding landscape, especially beautiful during autumn.
