In the place of today's palace there were originally wooden manors, with a history dating back to the pre-location times of the city. The brick palace was built before 1730 by Kazimierz Czartoryski. In the following years it was renovated and rebuilt. Between 1769 and 1770 the palace was completely renovated by Michał Fryderyk Czartoryski, son of Kazimierz Czartoryski, and in the years 1779-1781 the palace was thoroughly rebuilt by architect Stanisław Zawadzki, commissioned by Aleksandra Ogińska. Thanks to this reconstruction the palace received a classicist shape and decor.

In 1775, Aleksandra Ogińska, née Czartoryska, inherited the Siedlce estate from her father, Michał Czartoryski. She then ordered the reconstruction of the palace in the classicist style, as well as various constructions and changes in the city, including the opening of Pałacowa Street (currently Kościuszki Street) to facilitate communication with the market square and the church. During her time, the church was rebuilt and the town hall was built. Around the palace, in accordance with the fashion of the time, a romantic park, called Aleksandria, was also created.
