Peter Thumb from Bezau in Vorarlberg created the church in Hilzingen almost at the same time as the famous pilgrimage church Birnau am Überlinger See in the middle of the 18th century.
We almost cycled past Hilzingen if it hadn't occurred to me that there is a remarkable baroque church here. Well worth a stop.
