One or two well-maintained sandy beaches with a totem of the 1st Nation.
The beaches with fairly shallow water are regularly maintained. There is even a lifeguard on site during opening hours. There are cabins and toilets and a shower on site, but they are showing their age.
But be careful: only swim within the boundaries!!! The current further out can be very strong.

In 1982, the Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair supported the creation of the Sandpoint Beach Totem Pole. It was carved by a Nootkon aboriginal man, Wikinanish, in 22 weeks of work over 14 months. The red cedar trunk comes from British Columbia.

Sandpoint Beach sits where the Detroit River opens into Lake St. Clair, with a broad sandy shoreline and wide views across the water. The surrounding parkland remains open and connects directly with the Ganatchio Trail, with picnic areas, a playground, parking and washrooms nearby. Water access is currently closed indefinitely, so treat this as a waterfront stop rather than a swimming beach and follow the barriers and posted signs.
