Since June, Buggenhout has an extra asset, namely a new train platform ‘Buggenhout aan de Schelde’. This new platform is a boarding point at the railway crossing between Brielstraat and Kuitelgem. In the summer season in July, August and September, the steam train can be used every Sunday as a tourist excursion to and from Puurs-Sint-Amands.

Hiking

The station is located on the old railway line 52 between Antwerp and Dendermonde, which was completed in 1881 and closed in 1980. Sint-Amands and Baasrode-Noord then had a train station, but Briel did not. Today, there is a train stop for the steam train.
