Striking water tower built around 1940, designed by architect J. Gerber in the style of the Delft School. This tower was the highest water tower in the Netherlands for a long time (62.50 m high), until a 65-metre water tower was built in Emmeloord in 1958. In 1993, the water tower was given a new roof.
From 2007 to 2009, the water tower was used as a restaurant. Since then, the tower has been empty, but remains a striking landmark in the landscape that can be seen from far away.
