Decades ago the Fuhse still fulfilled an important task. Their water powered numerous mills. One of them was near Eixe: the Berger Mühle. For a long time she was the most productive one around. The Gödecke mill is still there today, but it has been converted into a residential building. It is a two-story half-timbered building, probably built in the second half of the 18th century, with plastered compartments under the half-hipped roof. The grinding technology is no longer there, the weir is only there to control the water. There is a lot to tell about the millers of Eixe.

The Berger Mühle has also been connected to Vöhrum ecclesiastically for a long time.
Around the middle of the 19th century, an Adolf Stechhan owned the Berger Mühle; he was clever, enterprising and a Freemason.
