The Alp Breitenfeld is divided into the Alp area Dörfli (coordinates 651250/182150/1764) and Aeussere Alp (coordinates: 650650/181490/1820). The Alp buildings of the two sub-areas are about 800 - 1000 m apart.
On the Alp Breitenfeld there are also two Aelpler, Zumstein Hans and Ming Josef, each with 6 and 8 cows respectively, which carry the milk into the valley.
On Breitenfeld the Alpfest Jakob (around July 25th) takes place with church service, Aelpler elections, wrestling, stone throwing, music & dance.
