Hiking
to the Abbey Road entrance, just beyond the children’s playground, was one of
two drinking fountains on the site. The inscription on it reads:
“This drinking fountain was presented to the City of Birmingham by Mr C M B
Parson in memory of the late Mr Wilson Carter. Erection 1907”
This early picture shows the fountain and has provided the basis for the current
restoration.
