On the occasion of the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the city of Waren (Müritz) decided to build a landscaped Olympic complex.
The height difference of approx. 9 meters between the waterfront promenade and Fontane Strasse enables a wide-ranging view of the old town of Waren (Müritz).
