The Sterngarten Georgenberg (also known as the Freiluftplanetarium) is an extraordinary open-air planetarium located in Vienna, in the 23rd district (Liesing, in the Wien-Mauer area).
Unlike traditional planetariums equipped with domes and digital projectors or classic astronomical observatories with advanced telescopes, this facility is dedicated to so-called horizon astronomy. It is designed to allow anyone to understand celestial mechanics, the apparent rotation of the starry sky, and the annual path of the Sun exclusively with the naked eye.
