It is located near the Collado de la Carihuela, above it, from which it receives its name, to shelter it from the strong wind that is common in the pass. The track, currently closed, which connected the Sierra Nevada ski and mountain resort with the Alpujarran municipality of Capileira, reaches its vicinity, and we can use it to make a spectacular downhill mountain bike ride to the aforementioned municipality, or continue by road to Órgiva.
