The High Rocks mountain biking trails offer a dynamic ride through Bucks County, Pennsylvania, blending challenging technical sections with fast, flowy singletrack. You'll navigate rocky terrain, rooty descents, and even some jumps crafted from old farm walls, all while enjoying scenic overlooks of the Tohickon Creek. The trail's varied landscape, including hardpack and loose rock, makes for an engaging experience that keeps you focused on the ride.
This 5.4-mile (8.6 km) loop, with 402 feet (123 metres) of elevation gain, is officially rated easy but features semi-technical sections that make it more suitable for intermediate riders. You can typically complete the route in about 47 minutes. The trail's excellent drainage makes it a prime spot for winter riding, offering good conditions when other trails might be unrideable.
Beyond the ride, the High Rocks area is also popular with climbers, known for its impressive 100-foot climbing face near the Tory Road parking lot. The trail's unique blend of natural beauty, including its proximity to Ralph Stover State Park, and historical elements like the old farm rock walls, sets it apart from other mountain biking options in the region.
