Mountain biking

The villa, as an inscription on the wall of the chapel states, was built in the seventeenth century and has a sober facade divided into three orders of openings. Over the centuries it has undergone numerous interventions, especially during the nineteenth century. The name derives from the Cortonese Passerini family, which had among its most important exponents the powerful cardinal Silvio Passerini (1469-1529).

The Palazzone di Cortona, also known as Villa Passerini, was built in the 16th century by Cardinal Silvio Passerini, a close collaborator of the Medici. Designed in the Renaissance style, the villa served as a country residence for the noble Passerini family. Over time, the property changed hands and underwent various changes. Today, the Palazzone houses the Center for Etruscan and Ancient Italian Studies, serving as a venue for academic and research activities on the Etruscan civilization.
