The Marienkapelle is not far from the Old Castle. It was once the castle chapel of Hohenberneck Castle and even if not much is left of it, you feel transported back to an earlier time here. Add to that the wonderful view down into the valley – a magical place!

The former castle chapel of Hohenberneck was a fortified church. Due to its dominant location, unique architectural design, and fully developed defensive capabilities, it held a special position among the Bavarian fortified churches. Therefore, from an architectural and art historical perspective, it was a true gem. The ruin has been restored and can now be visited again.

There is a lot to discover around Bad Berneck. Children especially get their money's worth here. Beautiful paths everywhere, one and views.
The Marienkapelle is one of these places. Note the artfully designed loopholes. There is also a huge primeval spruce at the viewpoint, which is also beautiful to look at.
