The sculpture in the middle of the fountain is made of glazed ceramics and was created in 1984-1986 by the sculptor and ceramic artist Ján Hričák.
Ján Hričák (1941) was originally born in Ukraine and lived in Sokolov until 1990. Ján Hričák only created one sculpture in Sokolov. The Květ sculpture was intended to create a place of peace and a social center of a residential area that imperceptibly penetrates the historic center of the city.
The fountain was extensively restored around 2015.
