This chapel, begun in 1605, contains twelve statues created by Francesco Silva (around 1610) that tell the story of the meeting between Mary and Elizabeth. The scene includes: Zechariah, Joseph, a joyful dog, a donkey and other characters, such as a blind violinist with his instrument, as well as places to create a familiar atmosphere for the pilgrims of the early 17th century. The frescoes, signed and dated 1624, with architectural elements in delicate colors and Nordic landscapes, are the work of Giovanni Paolo Ghianda, a pupil of Morazzone.
