Northeast of the village center there is a farm known as "the castle". The block-shaped house is dated 1642 and until recently stood on top of an artificially constructed earthen hill surrounded by a ring moat (two-tiered motte structure with upper and lower courtyard). Due to stability problems, the hill was flattened and the canals closed around 1987. Although the current appearance of the castle mainly dates from 1642, the basic characteristics of a block-shaped, fairly closed volume oriented towards the courtyard have been remarkably preserved.

The Kasteeltje, a motte site with a house and barn, was the former seat of a small lordship (Ter Borcht, 1401 - Nieuwenborg, 1642 (date immortalized in the wall anchors). The brick barn dates from 1850.
The knights of Tildonk probably resided at this location in the 12th century. In the 17th - 19th century, the lordship and castle were owned by the noble families (Archier and de Lalaing, counts of Tildonk.
The 'castle' and the immediate surroundings were protected in 2002.
