Nice park to relax and jog; the largest in the city. Be careful when it rains, the bottom is gravel and puddles form, you can still walk without encountering too many problems. Strollers with small wheels may find some difficulty. In spring and summer there is a bar inside the park. There are large lawns, numerous benches and some tables.

The Parco Papa Giovanni Paolo II, universally known as Parco della Galleana, is the main green lung of the city of Piacenza. Extending over an area of approximately 15 hectares (150,000 sq m, two-thirds of which are covered by large lawns), it is located in the south-western outskirts of the city, at the beginning of the Val Trebbia. Originally used as a military area and ammunition depot (powder magazine) until the Second World War, it was completely redeveloped by the Municipality and inaugurated as a public park in 1984.
