The beautiful national park community in south-eastern Germany is beautifully situated at the foot of the Watzmann (2,713 metres) and is the ideal starting point for unique bike tours through the idyllic Alpine region. The Jenner, which can also be reached with the Jennerbahn (opening of the railway after the new construction in summer 2018), attracts with the beautiful view over the Schönauer valley and the Königssee. The eventful boat trip on the Königssee is in operation all year round.

The Explorer Hotel in Schönau is the ideal starting point for Schönau, from here about 20 minutes to the Jenner Bahn or to the Königssee. Schönau itself has a few very good restaurants to offer, including a number of beer gardens.
