The Maria Chapel in the Langenboom hamlet of De Maurik is attracting a lot of attention. There are always many candles burning. The proceeds from the candle money in 2011 were € 1,250. This was donated to the MamaAlice Foundation. This foundation is committed to improving the situation of street children in developing countries. The initiators of the chapel found a good cause in the MamaAlice Foundation that fits in with Mary's ideas: watching over children. They think it is important that everyone who lights a candle in the Maurikkapel knows that the proceeds are going to the right destination.

This chapel was built entirely by local residents of Buurtschap de Maurik on their own initiative. The proceeds from offering candles and donations in this wooded chapel are used to support street children in Peru.
