Hiking
The small-scale interconnection of the different habitats is ecologically extremely valuable. In addition, the particularly moist and lean dry meadows and pastures form an Eldorado for special animals and plants. On GEO Nature Day 2018 alone, over 1,500 animal and plant species were detected, including many rare or endangered species, from the golden hair moss to the “Black Apollo” butterfly with its partially translucent wings to the lichen Melanohalea elegula, for which there is no German species gives names.
