Åre train station is located on Sankt Olavs Väg, one of the town's busiest streets. The modern building that houses the transport hub is an eye-catcher and worth a visit even if you don't plan on traveling by train. Inside you will find a variety of shops and service providers. The Sundsvall–Storlien railway, on which the Åre station is located, is 358 kilometers long and has been running from Sundsvall on the Baltic Sea coast to Storlien on the border with Norway for around 150 years. The Storlien-Trondheim railway line connects on the Norwegian side.
