This section of the Spokane River is right before the hydroelectric dam. Here, you can discover fish like rainbow trout and smallmouth bass. The Spokane River, around 111 miles (179 km) in length, is a tributary of the Columbia River. It runs through northern Idaho and eastern Washington.

There are dirt access roads connected to the Centennial Trail that will allow you to view both the upriver and downriver sides of the dam. April and may are great times to stop by and see the water on the spillway.

Great views as you ride along the Centennial Trail. If you are lucky you will get to see a plane land on the water, as the area just above the dam is also a landing place.
