Descend into Bryce Canyon's unique amphitheater on the Queen's Garden Trail, an easy 2.2 miles (3.5 km) hike. This route offers a direct encounter with the park's famous hoodoos, winding through a maze of multi-hued rock formations. You will gain 328 feet (100 metres) in elevation, typically taking about 1 hour and 3 minutes to complete. Keep an eye out for the Queen Victoria formation, a distinctive hoodoo that lends its name to the trail.

The trailhead for this route is situated at an elevation of around 8,000 feet. While the initial descent into the canyon is gradual and enjoyable, the return climb can be strenuous. Be prepared for the effects of high altitude; you might feel short of breath even on moderate uphill sections. Plan your visit with this in mind, especially if you are not accustomed to higher elevations.

This trail stands out for its unique opportunity to walk directly among the vibrant hoodoos, spires, and fins that define Bryce Canyon. You can even pass through hand-carved tunnels within the rock fins, making for a truly immersive experience. It offers a close-up perspective of the otherworldly landscape, showcasing the striking vermillion, yellow, pink, and white hues of the formations.
