That was me too, so "enchanted", on the gravel pits in Müssen, that's the name of the district of Lage. Here since 1965 sand and gravel are mined and processed. That is controversial. Creation of jobs or overexploitation of nature? A third option is the prospect of restoration, the creation of bird sanctuaries and nature reserves, or 'natural recreational baths' when sand and gravel are exhausted.
