Step Falls Preserve

Embark on the Step Falls Trail and Bear River Road Loop for a refreshing jogging experience through Grafton Notch State Park. This moderate route covers 4.5 miles (7.3 km) and involves a manageable elevation gain of 375 feet (114 metres), typically taking about 49 minutes to complete. As you jog, you'll follow Wight Brook, enjoying the sight of numerous waterfalls, cascades, and natural pools that punctuate the diverse forest landscape.

When planning your visit, be mindful that while the Step Falls Trail itself is excellent for jogging, the Bear River Road portion of the loop requires caution. This road can be narrow and winding, with some sections potentially unpaved, and you will be sharing it with vehicle traffic. Consider the time of day and traffic conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable outing.
