If you're looking for a challenging mountain biking adventure, the Beall and Ridge Trail Loop delivers a difficult ride over 24.9 miles (40.1 km). You'll climb a significant 3218 feet (981 metres) in about 4 hours and 7 minutes, making it a rewarding effort for experienced riders. The route takes you through diverse landscapes, from open meadows to dense pine forests and vibrant aspen groves. Along the Beall trail, you'll find commanding views of Rabbit Ears Pass and the Flat Tops Wilderness Area. Further on, the Ridge trail offers amazing vistas of the Western Slope landscape and Steamboat Springs.
Before you head out, be aware of an important seasonal closure affecting the Beall trail. From December 1st to June 30th each year, this section of the loop is closed to protect wintering and calving elk. During this period, only the Ridge and Rotary trails remain open for riding. To experience the full Beall and Ridge Trail Loop, plan your visit outside of these dates. Always check local conditions before you start your ride.
