Hiking

High above the Rur valley - the inexperienced hiker will feel the ascent in their legs - these rocks rise up. The actual meaning of the name component "ley" (sometimes also "lay") is slate and is actually supposed to indicate a corresponding geological subsoil, but here near Abenden it is rocks of variegated sandstone that surprise the hiker in ever-new formations.
