The settlement: Between 1400 and 1860, Ramsee consisted of five farms. “There were three large farmers, a medium-sized company that was dedicated to fishing, among other things, and a small company,” says Nehyba. For a short time in the 16th century, up to eight farms were recorded in documents. There were probably 30 to 40 people living in Ramsee. In a cadastre from 1812, the village's land holdings are given as 787 days' work, which corresponds to around 286 hectares. The size fluctuated over the years.
