The stork tower is a medieval military and prison tower on the edge of the old town of Eisenach in Thuringia. It is located in the west of Eisenach's old town on the edge of the Old Cemetery (Wikipedia).

The Eisenach city wall was first documented in 1216; its construction began in the 12th century under Landgrave Ludwig II. The inhabitants of the surrounding villages were obligated to contribute to the wall's construction as corvée labor; they used different materials and wall thicknesses depending on their own abilities. The structure, averaging eight meters in height, was equipped with seven watchtowers and ten access towers. Five guarded and lockable gate towers provided access to the city. Additional security was provided by ditches and ramparts in front of the city wall.
