The former half-timbered forester's house dating from the mid-nineteenth century and, together with the associated half-timbered barn, is located in the former park of Nieuwenhoven Castle and serves as a visitor center of the provincial domain of the same name. Hiking

After the French Revolution, the castle and domain of Nieuwenhoven came into the hands of the English baron Charles Whetnall. Whetnall renovated the castle and parts of the farm between 1860 and 1898 and had a new access road built with a bridge over the castle ponds. He also appointed a forest ranger to manage and monitor the private estate. A house was built for him in English cottage style with an accompanying half-timbered barn. The educational center is currently housed there.
