The Christ Church, built in 1882 in the neo-Gothic style, is one of the few half-timbered churches of the 19th century. It is the place of worship of the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church of Melsungen. The last major renovation took place in 2000. melsunger-land.de/media/attraktionen/christuskirche

Upon entering the church interior, the altar area immediately catches the eye, highlighted by the colored windows. The crucifix on the altar was designed by the Kassel artist Hermann Pohl and differs from traditional depictions of the crucified one. Thus, the focus is not on the suffering, but on the victorious Son of God.

The church has been redesigned several times in its over 100-year history. The last major renovation took place in the year 2000.

The pictures on the gallery are by the artist Fiorini from Perugia/Todi (Italy).
