    When planning your visit to the Erma Bell Lakes Trail, remember that a free self-issue wilderness permit is required for day use between June 15 and October 15. You will also need a Northwest Forest Pass to park your vehicle at the trailhead. The best time to enjoy this trail is generally from late May through November, when conditions are most favorable. However, be prepared for mosquitoes, which can be quite active from mid-June through July, so pack appropriate repellent.
