“And since in the Sacred Heart there is a symbol and a tangible image of the infinite love of Jesus Christ, which moves us to love one another, it is therefore fitting that we consecrate ourselves to His Most Sacred Heart - an act which is nothing other than a sacrifice and a commitment to Jesus Christ, for all the honor, veneration and love given to this divine Heart are really and truly given to Christ Himself.”

(Pope LEO XIII, “Annum Sacrum”, 1899)

Hiking

The station, housed inside the sanctuary, preserves a sculptural group with the Madonna and Child before the Cross and Saint Joseph by Dionigi Bussola and Giovan Battista Volpino (1663-1664). Giovanni Sampietro (1703) painted the sculptures and created the frescoed scenes placed as a compendium of the vision: the dream of Saint Joseph, the flight into Egypt, the arrival of the Magi and, on the vault, God the Father in glory.
