The Aar Salzböde Bahn, partially closed from 1995 and completely from 2001, was built between 1899 and 1902. The construction of the section from Wommelshausen to Eisemroth required three viaducts near Wommelshausen-Hütte, Endbach, and Hartenrod, as well as a 700-meter tunnel (west of Hartenrod). This is the smallest of these three viaducts.
