On the popular Gauertaler AlpkulTour hiking trail, 13 wooden sculptures lead through the Montafon cultural landscape. Here, Station 4: Shepherd's Life "The Guardian" – protectively, it spreads its strong roots like arms over the Alpstofel. This is where the second "roots-turned-upwards-tree" comes into play. It is the only one of the three that is not decorated with carvings.

Easily confused with Station 2: Alp Myhten "The Myhten Tree" – the roots of the spruce tree reach up to the sky in a plate-like shape – and connect the here-and-now with the "otherworld". Traditional carvings emphasize the mysteriousness.
