Cycling
The peat railways, also known as field railways, used special wagons designed for the transport of peat. These wagons were often long and had a large wheelbase to ensure high load capacity. The wagon bodies could be removable and were lifted from the chassis using chain eyes and, for example, transferred with a crane.
Double-flanged wheels were common, as the tracks in the moor could often not be laid stably and the wheels were thus intended to prevent derailment.
