It has beautiful scenery surrounded by farm land and fields and finally takes you up the hill a couple of 8-9%. Then, when you reach the golf club, it's up to 10% and finally 14% where the road is lined with lots of trees.
The road goes to the right your not quite finished. As you reach the top, you will see Billinge Pike over in the field and the gate to the farm.
Congratulations, you've beaten the Crank Hill and you're at the highest point in Merseyside.

Crank Hill is a nice little climb which can also be done from the other side up Alder Lane.
Shaley Brow is then a much tougher climb - past the golf course and then onto the top which is the highest point in Merseyside.
The full length of the road would be a very good workout.
