Hiking

St. Kevin's Church in Glendalough is a captivating testament to Ireland's rich monastic history. Nestled in the scenic Glendalough Valley, this ancient church is part of the larger monastic settlement founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century.

The church stands as a stone sentinel, preserving the spirit of centuries past. Its simple yet elegant design reflects the craftsmanship of the early Christian monks who dedicated themselves to a life of prayer and contemplation. The austere beauty of St. Kevin's Church evokes a sense of reverence, inviting visitors to connect with Ireland's spiritual heritage.

Hiking

St. Kevins Church and the setting it is in are simply beautiful. It is a striking example of how Irish builders attempted to inegrate a circular bell tower or belfry with a rectangular church. This charming example is one of only two completely integrated towers left in Ireland.

Hiking

The squat church tower was often mistakenly interpreted as a chimney, which earned the church the nickname St. Kevin’s Kitchen.
