La Sesia originates from Monte Rosa at about 2500 m a.s.l. from the glacier of the same name. It then descends very rapidly along the Valsesia, receiving in this section the waters of numerous streams, which considerably enrich its flow: the Sermenza, the Otro, the Vogna, the Artogna, the Sorba and the Rio di Valmala.
